Hidden Treasure: Jon McCall

Jon McCall is a big framed wideout with freakishly elite athletic ability. It is a huge mystery as to why the 6’4 Senior receiver out of Sophie B. Wright isn’t on EVERY school’s radar. McCall has 4 touchdowns through only 3 games of his still early Senior Campaign, which is impressive to say that he often finds himself covered by 2-3 defenders everytime he lines up. Most likely because of his insane ability to go up and get every pass that is thrown his way.

While his heart is primarily on the field, Jon also shares his heart with the classroom and basketball. McCall is a starter on the basketball team and a top student at his school, maintaining a 3.0 GPA in all Honor Classes. Coaches you may want to take notice before it is too late, because Jon McCall is truly a hidden treasure.

As a Multiple sport athlete how do you find a balance between school and your sports?

Jon:  School comes before anything so i always finish my school work first and then work on football and basketball. Because I know the only way to the top is what’s up here (his head)  the rest comes later on.

Do you feel as though you are an underrated athlete?

Jon: Yes, I am highly Underrated . You mean to tell me someone who could do everything on the field and the court is not ranked. Especially in football, you can’t name anybody that can stop me…You could send a triple team if you want, I’m still going to come up with the ball.

21′ WR John McCall

What makes you different from other athletes in your class?

Jon: What makes me different from everyone is I’m going to outwork you… no matter who you are. Also i have the mindset that i am the best and everything I do I do it at 200%.

What are you out to prove this year?

Jon: I am going to prove that I’m the best WR in the nation! And that I have been overlooked for way too long.

What do you seek to improve in your game?

Jon: I feel like I just need to improve in speed and my footwork could use a lil work. But just everything you know you want to improve in everything each day.

What schools have shown you the most interest so far?

Jon: McNeese State, Lamar, ULM, and Eastern Michigan.

Ok Jon, Final Question, What is your message if any to college coaches out there?

Jon: My message to the college coaches is I could be a great factor to your team, I am a hard worker, grades are good, and no defense could stop me!
